About James L. Gordon

James was raised as a youth in the small suburb of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, southwest of Pittsburg. James served in the Viet Nam War. He was active in sports and was a semi-pro basketball player and was a member of a Professional Track and Field Team in Los Angeles, California. James participated in speech and debate in college and afterward.

On November 25, 1987, James, at the age of 37, turned his life over to God to accept the challenge to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ as described in Luke 10, of the New Testament. In the past 24 years, James has traveled throughout the U.S., evangelizing and counseling others. He has several published books, including Take It by Faith, 100 Spiritual Drops, and one internationally published poem, titled “The Love We Share.”

Among James’ other accomplishments are the following:

  President of California State University at Northridge Debate Team (1977).

  Winner of the American Institute of Banking Public Speaking Contest for the Southern California Region.

  Third place in State Championship of American Institute of Banking Public Speaking Contest.

  Outstanding Achievement Award for service to United Way, Los Angeles, California.
